How to get Cheaper Bolt Rides in Ghana – Bolt formally known in Ghana as Taxify is a transport Mobile App that assists you to request a ride even in the comfort of your home.

Bolt is a great app, so their mission is to bring fast, reliable and affordable transportation to people in Ghana. COVID-19 Pandemic has made people afraid of taking public transport, so the other alternative is to use a mobile transportation app.
I recommend Bolt because they just introduced Bolt Lite which helps you get affordable rides in Ghana. This article will show you how.
Steps to register for Bolt
- Download Bolt app from the Play Store or the App Store.
- To continue, Register with your phone number. Because it helps the driver locate you when they get lost. You can also sign in with Facebook.
- After you input your phone number, a One-Time Password will be sent to your number via SMS.
- Set up your profile with your email (because it’s paperless, you will receive all receipts via email). Or you can also continue with Facebook.
- Enter your first and last name and then tap “That is all”.
Launch your Bolt App
To launch the Bolt app, follow these steps:
- Make sure you have downloaded and installed the Bolt app from the App Store or Google Play Store.
- Locate the Bolt app on your device’s home screen or app drawer.
- Tap on the Bolt app icon to launch it.
- Once the app is launched, you will need to sign in or create an account if you don’t have one already.
Set your Destination
- Open the Bolt app on your device.
- Make sure you have signed in to your account and that your current location is correctly detected.
- Tap on the “Where to?” field at the top of the screen.
- Enter your destination address or search for a location using the search bar.
- Select the correct location from the search results that appear.
- The app will display an estimated fare for the ride to your destination. If you’re satisfied with the estimated fare, tap the “Request Bolt” button to order a ride.
- Wait for the driver to arrive and pick you up. You can track the driver’s location in real time on the app.
Select Bolt Lite
- Open the Bolt app on your device.
- Tap on the menu icon (three horizontal lines) in the top-left corner of the screen.
- Scroll down to the “Ride type” section and tap on it.
- From the list of ride types that appear, select “Bolt Lite”.
- Once you’ve selected Bolt Lite, you can enter your pick-up location and destination, and request a ride as you normally would.
